Nordic Walking Holidays

Explore the rugged coast and inland footpaths of the Côte D'Armor

An Introduction to My Brittany

My name is Martine and I was born and lived in Brittany until I caught the travel bug and wandered off to India at the end of a certain decade. I have spent the last thirty years living in England and have now returned to my family home in Plouezec to follow my passion for Nordic walking.
I am a qualified Nordic Walking Instructor and have been practising and holding classes for the last five years. My knowledge of the coastal and inland footpaths is extensive and my aim is to pass on to others their familiarity and charm.

     The Venue

We will be staying at my family home, which is pictured on the
    right

The house has five bedrooms, two kitchens and three bathrooms
all set within a large garden with parking for six cars.

    The walks/ Fitness level

You do not have to be a Nordic walker at the outset;
we can teach you and as the week progresses, you will have
acquired the basic Nordic walking technique.
The walks will be between three to four hours a day at a
    moderate pace.
Due to the nature of the footpaths along the cliffs, there will be
some ascents. But we will take walking at a reasonable and
enjoyable pace, given that you will no doubt want to take
    photos.

Insur
ance

If you are a EU member, please ensure that you have a European Health card and adequate travel insurance
that will cover your walking activities, and any repatriation costs, should these become necessary.

   Travelling to Your destination

We use a number of ferry crossings depending on prices and convenience. Travelling from Calais to “Plouezec” takes an average of six
   and half hours.
Travelling from Le Havre or Caen takes four hours.

You may choose to fly to Dinard ( Ryanair, early booking advised) and then discuss with us an airport pick up.
The journey from Dinard to Plouezec takes about an hour and a half.

   The programme

This will involve a variety of daily walks (coastal footpaths and woods, picturesque Breton villages, Manor houses and Celtic chapels)
as well as loitering around places of interests, such as harbours, castles, cathedrals, local museums, painting exhibitions, etc…

We may adapt the programme of walks according to the groups requests and preferences.
However, we will include some of the “must see” places that every visitor to this part of Brittany deserves to see.
